Kansas City, Mo.--The Society of Collision Repair Specialists of Missouri and Kansas (SCRS-MO/KAN) at its annual meeting April 24 honored students and instructors from area technical schools. The event, held at Carstar A&B Riverside Body Shop Inc., included a reception, dinner and an awards ceremony. Technical schools from Topeka, Kan., and Maryville, Chillicothe, and Raytown, Mo., were represented.
Brett Bailey, owner of Carstar A&B Riverside Body Shop Inc. and vice chairman of the SCRS-MO/KAN, said he and members of SCRS-MO/KAN were there to support the students in any way possible.
"These students are the future of the industry," Bailey said. "If there is anything we can do, we are here to help." 
Bill Garoutte, chairman of SCRS-MO/KAN and president of Elite Dent Alliance in Springfield, Mo., presented the awards. He said the night was an opportunity to "honor students of the industry who will be the technicians and automotive employees of tomorrow."
The three top technical students were honored with certificates and scholarships. Third place went to William Rocker of Kaw Area Technical School of Topeka, Kan. Second place was awarded to Chase Brady of Kaw Area Technical School. First place went to Clint Berry of Grand River Technical School of Chillicothe.
An SCRS panel chose the finalists based on character, classroom participation, and community involvement.
