ASL to host online talk shows in Northwest; its CEO to present seminar at ATE
RSS Feed

Seattle-Automotive Service Leaders (ASL), a national training organization, will host several of its online talk shows for Northwest automotive service and repair professionals during February and March.

Sponsored by the Automotive Service Association of Washington (ASA-WA), the Showcase broadcasts are scheduled for Feb. 7 and 14 and March 6 and 13. The host is Gary Gunn, ASL's founder and CEO, who will also be instructing "Maximizing Your Training Investment: Making it Payoff" at the March Automotive Training Expo (ATE) in Seattle.

A variety of guests will appear on upcoming shows, including Jeremy Barrie of Seattle's Scott Sherman Automotive on Feb. 7 and Mark Simons of Rolf's Import Auto Service in Lakewood, Wash. on Feb. 14. No fees or passwords are necessary; just visit www.turnaroundtour.com at noon PST on the scheduled dates.

ASL has been assisting shop owners since 1979 through training and organizing group meetings across the country. With many resources available for training and knowledge gathering, Gunn and his team said they provide a viable system to use what shop owners already know through attending various training venues they have invested in for their shops.

"We don't care who your preferred training company is," said Michael Strautman of ASL. "We simply provide tools for planning, taking action, and moving forward with proven management techniques taught in training classes shops have attended."

In the Showcase broadcast and the ATE seminar, Gunn said he is dedicated to ensuring that shop owners get a return on investment for training. He said shop owners should spend most of their time training after the event is over. "Simply getting emotionally charged will not create change," he said. "A few weeks later you will be back into your previous routines unless you have a plan with which to take action."

ASL offers a plan for shop owners to maximize the payoff for knowledge purchased: past, present, and future. "We exist to help shop owners turn knowledge into action and action into change," Strautman said.
