Daimler Trucks North America selects PPG Industries as paint supplier for Sterling Trucks

Redford, Mich.--Daimler Trucks North America has announced that it has selected PPG Industries as its OEM and aftermarket paint supplier for the Sterling Truck Corp. manufacturing facility in St. Thomas, Ontario.

Sterling already uses PPG's standard black chassis topcoat; PPG's Delfleet topcoat cab colors and chassis special colors will be introduced into the St. Thomas facility in early 2008. Delfleet products have been designed and approved for DTNA applications since 2003 and are applied on Freightliner and Western Star trucks.

Delfleet topcoats provide superior appearance, corrosion resistance, adhesion, chip resistance, and UV durability.  The product, specially designed for DTNA applications, has been rigorously tested and approved by DTNA engineers.

"The change to Delfleet complements our existing primer and chassis topcoat paint," said Angela Plaxton, DTNA'S manager of coating technology.  "PPG's proven quality, durability, and technology will only enhance the appearance of our trucks."
