Overland Park, Kan.--The Coordinating Committee for Automotive Repair (CCAR) has renewed its alliance with the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The alliance, established in 2004 and renewed in 2006, serves to promote workplace safety and health in the automotive industry.
"We are excited about the renewal of our OSHA alliance partnership," said Daren Fristoe, CCAR president and chief operating officer. "Through this relationship, we will pursue all means to help broaden the awareness of safe working practices and programs that impact auto industry employees on a daily basis."
Since the inception of the alliance, CCAR and OSHA have collaborated to offer information, guidance, and access to training resources to help protect employees' health and safety. One example is the online guide "Operating Motor Vehicles: A Guide for Employees in the Automotive Repair Industry," which is available free of charge on CCAR's Web site.
In addition, CCAR has participated in national and regional automotive trade shows and training events to offer information on OSHA services and the alliance program. CCAR representatives also serve on the editorial boards of OSHA's Safety and Health Topics Pages for "Motor Vehicle Safety" and "Autobody Repair and Refinishing."
Further information on the CCAR-OSHA alliance, including a list of products and resources available, are available on the CCAR Web site.
