Snap-on Tools offers its 1/2-inch drive 18mm triple square socket
RSS Feed

Kenosha, Wis.--The Snap-on Tools 1/2-inch drive 18 mm triple square socket is specifically designed to remove and install rear axle bolts found on 2006 Volkswagen Jetta and Golf vehicles. The socket features a pinless bit that can easily be replaced if necessary. The bit has a natural oil finish to protect against corrosion, and because there is no hole, it won't collect dirt.

Snap-on advises techs to make sure they always have the right tool and warns against interchanging triple square bit sockets with double hex bit sockets, as using a triple square tool in a double hex tool application will strip the bolt head. In general, triple square bit socket drivers are used on European vehicles and double hex bit socket drivers are needed when working on Asian vehicles.
