Grand Island, Neb.--Chief Automotive Technologies has introduced a low-cost and easy-to-use anchoring and holding system that enables shops to repair slight to moderately damaged 2009 Ford F-150s without removing the cab.

This new Cab-On Repair System from Chief is engineered to be used with Chief’s Fast Anchoring System, a product that’s already found in most repair facilities and which means the new cab-on system will work on any Chief full-size frame pulling system.

The unique cab-on system includes a series of precisely angled pinch-weld clamps to securely grasp the vehicle on the rockers.  However, because the F-150 cab floor is mild steel and so much of the rest is high-strength steel, additional holding points are necessary to prevent deformation to the cab floor during repairs.

To solve that problem, the Chief cab-on system also includes a series of Rigid Cab Mounts that replace the vehicle’s rubber cab mounts during the repair process.  These patent-pending mounts make certain the floor stays exactly where it belongs and that the vehicle does not sustain additional damage as a result of making the necessary repairs.

The Cab-On Repair System quickly adjusts to fit any ’09 F-150 model and is so versatile that the frame and cab can be secured with little or no parts removal, a feature designed to save a tremendous amount of prep time and allow the repair work to begin sooner.

Chief’s Cab-Off version is still the only approved method of repairing severely damaged 2009 F-150s, but the addition of this new cab-on system will mean shops that have both will be able to correctly repair any ’09 F-150 that rolls (or is carried) into their shop.
