North Hollywood, Calif.--DuPont and D’Angelos have signed on to help make an ALS-afflicted RV enthusiast’s dream come true.
RV Buddies has been following the inspirational story of longtime Bakersfield resident Sandy Oliver as she battles ALS (better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease), a deadly disease for which there is no cure.
Over the last several months, Oliver and her husband, Kenny, have been refitting their RV so that she can continue traveling.
“This renovation will allow us once again to hit the road and travel to places unseen—to take our grandsons on camping trips, our whole family on excursions,” Sandy Oliver said. “This is what life is about for us, to be able as a handicapped person to have some independence and mobility, to travel in comfort and safety is truly a dream come true.”
DuPont and D’Angelos were moved by Oliver’s story and wanted to help her make her dream come true. They did so by contributing to the conversion of her coach.
“Sandy’s story is touching and inspiring,” said Fred Wissemann, brand manager for DuPont Refinish. “DuPont is proud to partner with D’Angelos and assist with the refinishing of this project. Our participation further supports our corporate vision to provide a better, safer, and healthier life for people everywhere.”
Todd D’Angelo said he was impressed with Oliver’s irrepressible attitude and saw an opportunity to make a difference.
“We’re a family business and have been since we started in 1956,” D’Angelo said. “Sandy is all about spending as much time with her family as she can, and that’s something we can really relate to. We’re thrilled to help make that happen for her.”
