EPWI names S.A. Gear 'Vendor of the Year,' Dick Niemi 'Representative of the Year'

Vail, Colo.--Engine & Performance Warehouse Inc. Photo by Michael Anderson.and shop supplies, held its 20th annual summer conference Aug. 10-11, an event that included golf, rafting, and was highlighted by dinner and an awards ceremony Thursday evening.

EPWI officials named S.A. Gear, a supplier of timing sets and components, its 2006 Vendor of the Year. Steve Tucker, vice president of sales and marketing, accepted the award on behalf of the Bedford Park, Ill.-based manufacturer. 

The award is presented to a supplier or manufacturer that performs well in seven areas: distribution and sales, pricing, inventory, returns, labor claims, office support, and shipping and packaging, EPWI officials said.

Photo by Michael Anderson.Dick Niemi, Federal Mogul's district sales manager for the San Francisco Bay area, earned EPWI's 2006 Representative of the Year award. Niemi provides sales, product, and marketing support for Sealed Power, Speed-Pro, FP Diesel, Fel-Pro, Carter, and Champion product lines to EPWI's Oakland branch warehouse. 

The award is selected each year by region, using combined votes based on sales support, distribution philosophies, and follow-through.

Founded in 1972, EPWI serves its customers from warehouses in Denver, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, Los Angeles, Oakland, Calif., Portland, Ore., Tacoma, Wash., and Anchorage, Alaska.
