New engine parts warehouse opens in North Kansas City
RSS Feed
North Kansas City, Mo. -- -On July 30, a new engine parts warehouse opened its doors in North Kansas City. Terry Lawson, owner of R.J. Templeton, which operates factory warehouses in Portland and Seattle, is the owner of the new branch in North Kansas City. The warehouse will be known as CPW-KC LLC and is at 1801 Linn St.

The warehouse came about when Ed Hayden, owner of Unit Warehouse, announced his retirement and the closing of his warehouse in March. David White, warehouse manager, and Jennifer Alexitch, phone manager, go over orders for the day at CPW-KC LLC, the new engine parts warehouse in North Kansas City.

"I decided to look at the Midwest market," Lawson said. "The primary line at Unit had been QualCast engine parts and high-performance parts. QualCast has agreed to come into the new location."

In addition, a new line of Japanese import parts, Rock Products out of California, will be available from CPW-KC, Lawson said, adding that Rock Products has a full line of engine parts, including gasket sets.

"Although Unit announced its closing earlier this year," said Ian Levitt, owner of QualCast Products, "they continued shipping QualCast Products until we found a new location. Mr. Hayden has been very helpful in keeping the doors open at Unit the past few months, and I would like to thank him and wish him well in his retirement."

David White and Jennifer Alexitch, formerly with Unit Warehouse, will operate the new CPW-KC Warehouse, ensuring that customers will receive the same great service that they got at Unit Warehouse, Lawson said.

"The most important part of this change," said White, the warehouse manager, "was that we wanted to let the customers know that their orders would be taken care of as well as when we were Unit." The warehouse has retained the same toll-free phone number and the same local phone number as Unit Warehouse, he said.

White said he had been with Unit Warehouse for eight years. Alexitch, the telephone manager, said she has been with Unit Warehouse for four years, then went to work for another automotive warehouse for seven years; she went back to Unit for the last four years for a total of 15 years in the automotive business. Both are working in all phases of CPW-KC's operation from taking orders to shipping and receiving.

White said the crew and management of CPW-KC is looking forward to working with Unit customers and meeting new clientele. "We will be shipping nationwide," he said.
