Algona, IA - Since 2002, Universal Manufacturing Co. has produced a line of automotive products that include electric fuel pumps, brake calipers, transfer cases, and transfer case shift motors. The products are sold throughout North America under ReTech and other private brands for many customers.
"We have recently introduced a line of all-new electric fuel pumps under the ReTech Platinum name," said Donald Heupel, president of Universal Manufacturing.
"All of the ReTech products are remanufactured from only the highest-quality cores," said Lance Frame, director of sales and marketing. "They must adhere to the most stringent quality standards in the industry. All ReTech products must meet or exceed original equipment manufacturing specifications before they leave our facility. Waveform testing has been incorporated into motor screening procedures to further ensure the quality of our product."
ReTech fuel pumps go through 10 testing procedures including a state-of-the-art USNO tester that checks all flanges for pinholes, cracked tubs, electrical connection seals, and surface flatness, Frame said. ReTech offers the only aftermarket-remanufactured electric fuel pumps in North America, he said.
"The ReTech Platinum Series line of electric fuel pumps are manufactured like our remanufactured line of pumps to deliver peak OEM performance and fit," Heupel said. "We are so confident in the quality of our new ReTech Platinum Series Electric fuel pumps that we include an industry-leading three-year/36,000-mile platinum warranty."
ReTech Platinum Series Pumps are subjected to the same stringent quality, inspection, and testing procedures throughout the manufacturing process, meeting, and in most cases, exceeding OE specifications, he said.

"Universal Manufacturing Co. has a proud past," Heupel said. The company has consistently qualified for the industry's highest awards, he said, adding that every facet of Universal's operations meets or exceeds the standards set by Ford Motor Co.
Universal Manufacturing operates out of a 90,000-square-foot building with manufacturing, assembly, and warehouse capabilities, Heupel said. It has 70 employees and five regional sales offices covering the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Most of the employees have been with Universal most of their working lives, Heupel said, some with 30 to 40 years of service. Some of the employees are the sons and daughters of older employees, he said, adding that the company's most important assets are the employees.
