Warrensville Heights, Ohio--Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp. has announced it has been named the exclusive North American distributor of Visomax Prometheus, a leading European polishing system.

Prometheus has been approved for both OE and aftermarket use by such premier European car manufacturers as Ferrari, Aston Martin, BMW, Lotus, Mercedes Benz, and Rolls Royce.  Its well-performing final finish products have also been approved for the aftermarket by Ford Motor Co.

Prometheus is a compound system designed to achieve an absolute brilliant, deep-gloss with hologram-free results without the use of silicones, waxes, or other fillers.  Its technology was specifically developed for European luxury car manufacturers, is used extensively in many of their production lines and is a perfect fit for new car preparation in premier automotive dealerships.

When considering a partner for its Prometheus distribution strategy, Marco Petermuller, Visomax co-founder says, "The well-trained technicians at Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes were a significant part, along with its considerable distribution strength, when it came to our considerations for an appropriate North American partner."

Prometheus provides an easy, two-step process that eliminates the need to conduct multiple tasks normally required to achieve a near perfect luster, and provides materials savings of up to 30 percent.

Its application process includes:

Step One: Clean surface to remove sanding residue before polishing; buff PS207CQ at 1500 rpm using lamb's wool pad; remove excess with microfiber cloth; use surface cleaner to verify scratch removal.

Step Two: Using PS250Q, buff at 1500 rpm using foam pad; remove excess with microfiber cloth.

For new car dealer preparation: Clean surface with surface cleaner; buff with PS250Q at 1500 rpm using foam pad; remove excess with microfiber cloth.
