Norcross, Ga.--Akzo Nobel has announced that it is accepting nominations for the 2008 Most Influential Women in the Collision Repair Industry. The 2008 program will mark the 10th anniversary for what is acknowledged by many as one of the cornerstone recognition programs in the industry.
"Akzo Nobel is pleased to have been able to pioneer this effort in the collision repair industry and set an example for others to follow," said Tim Loden, Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes North American director of marketing. "This is an important milestone for the program, Akzo Nobel, and the industry.
"We have celebrated the accomplishments of many talented leaders over the past 10 years, and we look forward to continuing the tradition for many more," Loden said.
Elainna Sacchire, president and owner of Square One Systems, was one of the five industry leaders honored last year. She said the opportunities for women in the industry are unlimited.
"Many women have a gift for building relationships and relating to customers," Sacchire said. "Many excel at handling the details of estimating and running a business, while others are skilled technically. We can be proud of what we can accomplish and encourage others to succeed."
The company will also award its annual scholarship in conjunction with the I-CAR Education Foundation in the name of the Most Influential Women. The funds will be used for prospective female students pursuing a career in the collision repair industry.
