Seekins Ford Lincoln-Mercury in Fairbanks was recently honored with the Ford Power Stroke Diesel's Top 50 Volume & Growth Award, one of 50 of 5,000 dealers in the nation to receive the award. Seekins was also recognized as the No. 1 Ford Power Stroke Diesel, Blue Diamond Dealer in the nation for 2007. The awards were presented to the dealership by Jim Stevens, Northwest parts sales manager for Ford Motor Co.'s Blue Diamond LLC.

Mountain View Motors in Post Falls has expanded its pre-owned vehicle facility and has added a new repair shop with an ASE-certified technician. The new facility is a NAPA Auto Care Center.

Patsy and Jeff Hall, owners of Collins Ford in Lakeview, have opened Hall Motor Co., a GMC, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, and Pontiac dealership. The store sits on a site where Patsy Hall's Father, Dan Collins, operated a dealership from 1958-1986.
Brian's Valley Auto Service, a full-service CARQUEST Auto Parts Store, opened recently in Hood River. The store is owned by Brian Hoffman.
WASHINGTON
Harbour Pointe Lincoln-Mercury-Mitsubishi has closed in south Everett. Ford Motor Co. has purchased the Lincoln-Mercury franchises from Owner Becci Stupey, and Brien Ford has bought the Mitsubishi dealership.
I-5 Toyota has completed and opened its new dealership adjacent to I-5 in Chehalis. The devastating December 2007 floods in the area did not affect construction of the 32,000-square-foot facility that had been located across the freeway for many years, though flood waters did cover the entire lot area and damaged some in-ground fixtures.
Lee Johnson Chevrolet in Kirkland is celebrating its 75th anniversary. The family-owned dealership also has Mazda and Kia franchises.
LeMay–America's Car Museum has announced that William Zuppe of Spokane and James Gary May have been named to museum's board of directors. Zuppe, an avid car collector, was co-founder of Sterling Savings Bank in 1981 and served as its president and COO until Dec. 31, 2007. May, a Florida resident, owns and operates Hopewell Land Partners and is involved with Foundation Board at the University of Central Florida. The museum is dedicated to preserving the Harold LeMay collection of autos, trucks, and memorabilia, a collection that the Guinness Book of World Records confirms is the largest privately held car collection in the world. Plans are under way to build a museum in Tacoma for a permanent collection of 1,200 cars and memorabilia.
In memoriam: Walter R. Feltheim, 91, of Stanwood died May 15 of heart problems. He operated a repair shop on Seattle's Capital Hill for many years where he was active in the Seattle Independent Garage Owners organization (IGO – now ASA). Even in retirement, Feltheim continued to repair vehicles, would attend automotive functions and trade shows, and remained active in the former Automotive Old Timers organization. He met regularly with retired automotive industry friends for coffee in Lynnwood. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lois, as well as two daughters and several grandchildren.
In memoriam: Jeffrey J. Pratto, 53, died May 24 at his Duvall home after a long battle with lung cancer. He operated a third-generation automotive equipment business, Pratto Sales Co., based in Monroe, which his grandfather founded in Seattle in 1948. He had sent a letter to customers and business associates just days before his death that he was taking time off to fight his cancer and that Gary Porter, a longtime equipment specialist, had joined the firm in a leadership role. Pratto is survived by his wife of 22 years, Marita, and three daughters.
