ECCO introduces focused-sound back-up alarm, solving noise-pollution problem
RSS Feed

Boise, Idaho--ECCO has introduced a new alarm that effectively addresses three major issues now associated with conventional back-up alarms: noise pollution, driver irritation, and vehicle identification. ECCO has introduced a new focused-sound back-up alarm, solving the problem of excess back-up alarm noise.

The SVX alarm uses a new, patent-pending technology called SoundVector that cancels out sound waves that would normally travel outside the hazard zone immediately behind a reversing vehicle, resulting in what ECCO is calling Focused Sound Safety.

As the alarm volume is significantly reduced for those not in close proximity to the rear of the vehicle, particularly those toward its front, driver irritation and noise pollution in surrounding areas is eliminated.

In a multivehicle environment, a person's ability to readily identify vehicles posing a hazard is greatly enhanced as they are less able to hear other reversing vehicles that don't pose a threat.  SVX back–up alarms feature the globally recognized "beep … beep" warning signal of a conventional back-up alarm.
