Refrigerant ID technology helps shops prevent A/C contamination
RSS Feed

Exton, Pa.--Neutronics Refrigerant Analysis offers its advanced Ultima ID Refrigerant Identifier to automotive service and repair facilities as the first line tool for safe and profitable mobile A/C service.

The refrigerant identifier can help prevent the contamination of a shop's R-134a supply, damage and warranty loss on recovery equipment, lost service profits, and even risk of injury.

Technicians need to know the quality of refrigerant in the cars they service before they work on them.
"Refrigerant contamination is one of the biggest issues confronting our industry," said Peter Coll, Neutronics Refrigerant Analysis sales manager.  "The increasing cost of A/C service, the lack of federal guidelines, and increasing DIY usage has opened the door for A/C service headaches and ushered in a variety of refrigerant substitutes, including propane, HC-hydrocarbon, and R-134a mixtures.

"These are not only potentially harmful to shops, but to the technicians as well," Coll said.  "Today, you can't afford to guess at the quality of refrigerant in the cars you service.  You need to know exactly what's in that A/C system before you work on it."

The Neutronics Ultima ID uses Neutronics leading-edge infrared refrigerant gas analysis technology and exclusive "Blend ID" software designed to identify all EPA S.N.A.P. approved refrigerants in addition to R-12, R-134a, R-22, HC, and Air.

Ultima ID is ergonomically designed, lightweight, simple to use, and has an extra large LCD display.

Ultima ID has an optional built-in printer that creates a test receipt so a shop can easily bill the customer and get paid for its work.  An optional internal battery also makes the Ultima ID exceptionally portable, so it can be used anywhere.
