The Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) has published a new Smog Check Reference Guide and Draft Smog Check Inspection Procedures manual for use by smog check stations and technicians. These two publications together replace the existing Smog Check Inspection manual. Both publications are available on the smog check Web site, www.smogcheck.ca.gov.
Chris Weissense, owner of Capitol City European in Sacramento, won a 2008 Ford F-150 Foose Edition designed by Chip Foose of TV's "Overhaulin'," the grand prize in the 2007 Ford Customer Service Division "When It Fits You Win!" national sweepstakes. Weissence was awarded the truck on June 26 at Downtown Ford in Sacramento.

The Roseville Auto Mall association is asking the city of Roseville to pay for half of an estimated $6 million in improvements it wants to make to the mall. The majority of the money will be used to remove sections of a wall surrounding the complex.
A high school student in Ukiah won an automobile makeover worth an estimated $20,000 when five local businesses teamed up to reward Ellen Sassenrath, a sophomore at Ukiah High School, who won the makeover for her essay, "Why My Car and I Should Be Chosen." Advanced Collision Repair, Bazzani's Bitchin' Stitchin' Custom Upholstery, dfm Car Stereo, and Redwood Tree Automotive Center all helped refurbish Sassenrath's 1985 Volvo Wagon.
