Latest Activant innovation enables parts distributors, jobbers to improve customer deliveries
RSS Feed

Livermore, Calif.--Activant Solutions Inc. has introduced a business solution to help replacement parts distributors and jobbers attack the "last frontier" in customer service--the fast, efficient, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of parts.

The Activant Dispatch and Delivery System solution eliminates the need for manual delivery-tracking systems that require continual updates by distributor employees.  This new system, proven in a variety of other delivery-intensive markets where time-to-customer is paramount, helps keep delivery trucks running on time and at capacity to help improve operational efficiency and profitability.

This new delivery solution also permits unsurpassed visibility into current and past delivery performance, allowing the user to "drill down" into specific orders to identify any issues that might impact customer satisfaction.  The solution's immediate delivery status reporting capability also helps distributors enhance communication with their professional accounts.

The Activant Dispatch and Delivery System is designed for ready integration into a full range of popular Activant business management solutions and is available with optional Activant GPS Tracker technology to provide real-time vehicle-tracking information via mobile phone interface.

Other key features and capabilities of this robust solution include:

• Graphic grid displaying availability of information for specific trucks and drivers.

• Ability to easily split orders among multiple trucks and drivers.

• Load-drop sequencing tool to help optimize deliveries of multiple-order loads.

• Dispatch of specific trucks by order type and destination.

• Extensive standard and custom report capabilities.

"Thousands of parts businesses are still relying on grease boards and other manual delivery systems that too often result in inefficiencies and delays, which can then translate into an unsatisfactory customer experience," said Tom Aliotti, vice president and general manager of the Activant automotive business.

"The Activant Dispatch and Delivery System solution not only addresses the errors and inefficiencies of manual systems, but also provides a tremendous volume of valuable data back to the owner or manager for use in evaluating and improving delivery performance, increasing business profitability and enhancing customer satisfaction," Aliotti said.
