Council Grove, Kan.--Peterson Machine is offering a new head and block resurfacer, the RP1010, that will replace the RP900MVA.
The new machine is the same base machine as the 900MVA, but offers many new features such as a longer table travel of 45.5 inches. This machine also offers an upgraded power column that uses a ball screw for increased durability and accuracy and has a variable speed spindle with LED RPM readout for simple and accurate speed adjustments.
The column uses a joystick control that allows operator ease for fast milling-head up and down movements.
The new RP1010 comes standard with two modes of operation. The manual operation allows continuous back and forth travel for repeated cutting, while the automatic cycle provides optimum removal rates with an auto return that prevents back cutting of the cutter plate by lifting off the work piece. The cutter plate is parked in the start position, ready for the next operation.
The RP 1010 is also equipped with a ball-screw table drive with variable-speed traverse that allows the operator to control the surface finish required. Other standard features include easy-to-reach control panels, flexibility to use CBN or PCD inserts, a head and block rollover fixture with a ground steel plate, and a 14-inch cast-iron cutter plate.
