VIENNA, WV--Steve Shaver and the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgrove Racing Team are busy preparing their equipment for this weekends mega event the Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 at Florence Speedway in Union, KY. This year's event is sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and will pay the winner of the 100-lap feature event a whopping $50,000. Steve won this event in 2004 and most recently in 2006. Steve is always a favorite to win at Florence Speedway and this year he plans to be fully prepared to win another North/South 100 title.

 
"Were excited about this weekend and racing again at Florence Speedway. We always run well there and hopefully it's our year again to win it. We've won this event in even number years so here we are in 2008 again it's our year to win it. With Sunoco as the title sponsor of the event it would be awesome to win it for those guys that support our race team as well", stated Steve.

 
With a top 5th place finish at Muskingum County Speedway during the World of Outlaws sanctioned event and the Alltel Ohio Speedweek, Steve is eligible to win $10,000 as part of the Alltel Allstar contest where fans can vote for their favorite driver. The driver that earns the most votes between July 27th and September 9th will be awarded the Alltel Allstar award and the $10,000.
