Greaves Okay after Horrendous Crash on Final Lap in Pomona, Round 9
RSS Feed

Pomona, CA (August 16, 2008) – Johnny Greaves is Okay after suffering a crash on the final lap during CORR Round 9 racing on Saturday in Pomona, CA. He was clipped by a fellow driver that sent him flipping, some say 8 times on the asphalt portion of the track at the Fairplex. He was taken to a local hospital for observation after experiencing temporary vision loss from the impact. A team spokesman said he does not have any broken bones and looks like he is going to be fine and looking forward to getting back to the racing action. Johnny will be heading to Crandon, WI, for the WSORR Labor Day weekend races and then to Chula Vista for CORR rounds 11 and 12.

CORR Officials allowed Johnny to take the green flag and then he was relieved by veteran off-road driver, Dan Vanden Huevel in Sunday's Round 10, Pro 2 race. In the Pro 4, the MONSTER ENERGY/ Forest County Potawatomi Greaves Motorsports team drove a spare Traxxas Pro 4 machine. Again, Johnny was behind the wheel at the start of the race and relieved by Dan after 1 lap.

Johnny, Kathy and the entire Greaves Motorsports team would like to express their sincere appreciation for the many calls, emails and expressions of kindness following his crash. We truly have a great racing family in off-road. Thanks to everyone who helped us out during the difficult weekend!
