Car Care Council recognized for superior achievement in media relations
RSS Feed

Bethesda, Md.--The Car Care Council has received top national media recognition from North American Precis Syndicate, Inc. (NAPS) for two of its consumer radio features entitled "When Your Car Says 'Wash Me, Please'" and "Hot Weather The Cause of Car Battery Trouble." Both radio news releases sparked an extraordinarily high volume of placements by America's radio broadcasters.

"When Your Car Says 'Wash Me, Please'" had 916 placements with 68 percent in the leading 50 media markets, and "Hot Weather The Cause of Car Battery Trouble" had 736 placements with 74 percent in the top 50 media markets.  Each of the stories placed in the top one-quarter of one percent of all radio features distributed to the media by NAPS.  By comparison, radio features typically generate, on average, 300 to 400 placements, with 400 rarely being reached.

Another Car Care Council feature news story, "Put the Brakes on Soaring Gas Prices," was recognized a second time for superior achievement.  Since scoring high marks in May 2008, "Put the Brakes on Soaring Gas Prices" had an additional 400 placements, topping 1,100 total placements for the news feature.

"This prestigious recognition is evidence that the Car Care Council has made a real impact on the consumer media, delivering the right vehicle maintenance information at the right time," said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council.
