Snap-on Diagnostics introduces Verus
RSS Feed

Lincolnshire, Ill.--Snap-on Diagnostics introduces Verus, a powerful evolution in handheld diagnostics. Verus gives technicians everything they need to manage the customer, the vehicle, the diagnosis and the repair -- in one rugged unit. It provides the answers that technicians need to do the repair right, the first time.

"Technicians and shop owners from around the country helped us build Verus," said Mark Schaefer, director of customer insight for Snap-on Diagnostics. "In customer clinics and research groups, Snap-on received dozens of insights about the most wanted designs and features. Technicians told us what worked, what didn't work, and what we could be doing better. The result is a handheld diagnostic tool that truly works the way the technicians do."

With Verus, technicians can create customer records and vehicle history files. They can access OEM-specific codes, data and functional tests for 40 vehicle makes. Verus offers over a million Troubleshooter time-saver tips based on real-world experience and more than two million component test procedures. Plus, it offers hotlinks to the complete Fast-Track Reference Database, including TSBs, wiring diagrams, tests procedures and more.

Technicians will enjoy the flexibility and multitasking of Windows XP (they can add the Windows applications of their choice). Verus users will be able to save and share test results and create their own reference library on the internal 80GB hard drive. Verus is also equipped for wireless Internet capabilities for live access throughout the shop, plus it offers plug-and-play compatibility with monitors, USB printers, keyboards and more.

The Internet browser allows technicians to access websites of their choice, such as their online parts suppliers, e-mail, OEM sites and technical forums. ShopKey subscribers can view their complete repair information system onscreen alongside the Scantool, Scope or Meter.  Options include a J2534 reprogramming device, European vehicle scanner software, and charging station.

Verus has true multitasking, so it's easy to view and navigate multiple applications at once on the huge 10.4" XGA color display. The new simplified one-touch navigation and touch-screen gets results quickly. With just one click, technicians can move from customer records, to Scantool, the Component Test Meter, the 4-Channel Lab Scope or go to the Internet and their Windows applications.
