Fremont, Calif.-Allied Auto Stores, an ACDelco warehouse parts distributor, hosted an open house and customer appreciation day on Aug. 14 at its Fremont store. The festivities featured a barbecue, a band, a car show, and a raffle.
In addition, 35 of Allied's vendors were on hand to display their products throughout the day as well as answer customers' questions.
Allied Sales Manager Tom Croker said the open house is always a greatly anticipated and popular occasion. "Our wholesale customers, employees, and vendors all look forward to this event," he said. "It's a success on a couple of levels because sales for the month go up 20 percent on average, and it's also a great opportunity for us to reward the shops we sell to."
Rick Cardeno, owner of Dorso's Automotive in Fremont, had a very lucky day. His '66 Chevrolet Chevelle was awarded first place in the car show, and he also won the grand prize in the open-house drawing; a 32-inch flat-screen television.
