Inspection of diesel-powered vehicles workshop
Recently passed legislation (assembly bill 1488) requires the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) to implement the inspection of diesel-powered vehicles by Jan. 1, 2010. Target vehicles will be 1998 and newer, with a GVWR of 14,000 lbs. or lower. The smog check test will consist of a visual inspection of components, an OBD test, and a visual smoke inspection. The purpose of these workshops is to provide the opportunity for interested parties to provide input in advance of the formal regulation hearing process. Members of ASCCA Government Affairs Committee will be present. For more information contact Tracy Jenkins at 916-255-3451, or e-mail at tracy_jenkins@dca.ca.gov.
Additional Information is also available on the Bureau's Web site at www.smogcheck.ca.gov.
