Karl Chevrolet in Ankeny sold more used vehicles than any other General Motors dealership in the United States last year. In recognition of that achievement, GM officials from Detroit presented a plaque and crystal bowl to Greg Crow, used-car manager, Carl Moyer, dealership owner, and his son, Brett Moyer, general sales manager

Lithia Motors, based in Medford, Ore., has purchased Jordon Motors, which has dealership locations in Johnstonand Ames. Jordan sells Acura, Infiniti, Volkswagen, and Audi on the campus in Johnston, and Honda and Nissan vehicles in Ames.
Kelderman Air Ride of Oskaloosa and Zip's Truck Equipment of New Hampton have been approved for the Member Verification Program by the National Truck Equipment Association. The program recognizes members that have implemented minimum business processes and have taken steps to comply with certain government regulations.

Broadway Collision, formerlythe body shop for Marcus Allen Broadway Ford of Kansas City, is continuing with business as usual following the closing of the dealership. "I just wanted to let everyone know that we are open and ready for business. Our location is 3401 Broadway in Kansas City," Bridget Holoman said.
Max Motors of Butler, a GM dealership, has purchased the Dodge-Chrysler-Ford dealership in Butler.
Mark Dalen, owner of AAMCO in Lee's Summit, has forged a relationship with Hope House, a domestic-violence shelter, to develop AAMCO AAngels. The AAngels will assist Hope House clients who need repair services.
Bill Woods Ford of Kansas City is closing it doors after 50 years on Antioch and Vivian. The closing was part of the automaker's goal to reduce its network of dealers by 200 a year over the next three years.
Brett Gilbert and Jim Helsper have opened Wrenchtech, a complete auto care center at 510 N. Broadway in Oak Grove.
O'Reilly Auto Parts opened a new store in Oak Grove. Mike Heiter is the district manager, and Jim Shrout is the store manager. To commemorate the opening, Shrout presented a $200 check to the Community Service League.
A car built by Troy Trepanier of Rad Rides by Troy in Manteno, Ill., was the winner of the '07 Ridler Award at the Detroit Autorama. The '36 Ford of Ross and Beth Myers was the second Ridler Award winner to be painted in an AFC booth in the past three years, said Les Laughlin, an Independence-based sales representative for AFC Spray Booths.
NEBRASKA
GM honored Don Riensche with a plaque and a letter acknowledging him as having the longest tenure of any GMC technician at one location in the United States. Sean Cahill, Carriage Motors of Beatrice service manager, said an open house was held for the public to help Carriage Motors and Riensche celebrate the honor.
Dean Cerny, owner of Columbus Auto Mart Sales, is the recipient of the 2006 Nebraska Quality Dealer Award. He received the award in Kearney at a banquet during the 30th annual convention of the Nebraska Independent Auto Dealers Association.

Ultimate Truck Off Road Center of Omaha is having the 14th annual 4X4 Show and Shine Truck Show. The event will be Saturday, May 19, at 13434 Millard Ave. The show usually features about 60 4X4s.

Delphi of Troy, Mich., was named Vendor of the Year by SAE Warehouse in Sioux Falls. "Delphi is honored to receive this award and also congratulates SAE Warehouse on celebrating its 75th anniversary," said Frank Ordonez, president of Delphi Products & Service Solutions. "The growth of Delphi products in our stores is a testament of the hard work and dedication of Team Delphi," said Tim Sturdevant, president of SAE Warehouse. The award was presented to Darrel Reuss, Midwest regional sales manager of DPSS, and Dave Bryant, Siskel Sales Co.
Nordstrom's "Under the Hood Show" will add three more radio stations to its syndicated network. KBJM AM 1400 in Lemmon airs the show on Saturday mornings at 8 a.m. KLOH AM 1050 in Pipestone, Minn.,airs the showat 9 a.m. every Saturday. KWOA AM 730 in Worthington, Minn., is now running the show on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. The show is hosted by Shannon Nordstrom and Russ "Supertech" Evans.
In memorium: Richard Scheer, 76, died at his home March 19 of an apparent heart attack. Scheer was the founder of Inland Truck Parts. Born in Garden Plain, Kan., Scheer started to work in the truck parts industry in Wichita, Kan. In 1966, he, a brother and two partners moved to Omaha and founded Nebraska Parts Co. They changed the name of the company to Inland in 1977 because the company had subsidiary companies in Minneapolis, Des Moines, and Billings, Mont. In the 1980s, the partners began selling their interests to employees of the company, which now has its headquarters in Overland Park, Kan. His survivors include his wife, Dorothy, and six sons and daughters.
