Longer bed adds to function of Nissan Crew cab
RSS Feed
One of the problems that often arises with midsize trucks is the tradeoff between interior space and bed size. Choose the four-door model and you are left with a short bed sometimes too small for the task at hand. Choose the long bed, and there is no room for passengers in the backseat.
Nissan recognized the problem on the Frontier, which was introduced as an all-new truck in 2005, and for 2007 offers a long bed on its Crew Cab and King Cab models. Now you can haul large loads and still have your friends along to help. The new bed is 13 inches longer than those on 2006 models. The Nissan Frontier Crew Cab Long Bed features a bed 13 inches longer than on previous models, expanding its function, while improving the truck's interior proportions as well.
The addition of a factory-applied spray-on bedliner and Nissan's Utili-track tie-down system make the bed both durable and functional. The Utili-track system features rails in the bed floor, sides, and header panel that provide a wide range of attachment points for the pair of tie down cleats that are included. Accessories can expand the system to include bed dividers, sliding cargo trays, and modular storage units.
The exterior has aggressive styling with a large grille and headlights flowing into prominent fender flairs.
Other updates for 2007 include the addition of a passenger-side seat-belt reminder light, an MP3-player-capable aux-in jack (when CD6 equipped), and an improvement in emissions quality to LEV2 ULEV from LEV2 LEV.
Many aspects of the Frontier are actually downsized Titan designs, including its suspension layout and many component designs. Both feature a double-wishbone front suspension and solid rear axle with overslung leaf springs.
The pickup's 261-HP, 4.0-liter DOHC V-6 provides plenty of acceleration when empty and power when full with 281 lb.-ft. of torque. The VQ-series engine has a proven past in the 350Z, Maxima, Altima, and other models.
The new crew cab interior is spacious and functional for passengers in the front or rear seating. The engine's design includes a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System, Variable Induction Control System, silent timing chain, microfinished camshaft and crankshaft surfaces, and Teflon-coated pistons working in the aluminum block and cylinder heads.
At $27,200, including the SE value package with numerous power features and a four-wheel limited-slip differential, the Nissan Frontier Crew Cab Long Bed offers style and functionality.
