IOWA
Dubuque Speedway, Dubuque, 563-744-3620, www.simmonspromotionsinc.com. The 3/8-mile high-banked clay track hosts Sunday night classes in Late Model, Modified, Pro Stock, Limited Stock, Hobby Stock, B-Modified, and four-cylinder Farley Flyers.
Farley Speedway, Farley, 563-744-3620, www.simmonspromotionsinc.com. The 1/2-mile high-banked clay track hosts Friday night racing of Late Model, Limited Stock, Stock Car, and four-cylinder Farley Flyers.
Eddyville Raceway Park, Oskaloosa, 641-969-5596, www.eddyvilleraceway.com. Some highlights of the 1/8-mile IHRA-member drag strip are the Advance Transmission Super Pro, Pro (modified), Sportsman (Super ET), Junior Dragster, RJ Performance Pro Bike, and RJ Performance Street Bike.
Tri-State Raceway, Earlville, 563-923-3724, www.tristateraceway.com. This quarter-mile NHRA-member drag strip hosts a full season of Saturday and Sunday bracket racing for Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, Trophy, High School, and Junior Dragster.
Knoxville Raceway, Knoxville, 641-842-5431, www.knoxvilleraceway.com. Self-described as the "Sprint Car Capital of the World," the half-mile dirt track oval, 26 miles southeast of Des Moines features a full schedule of Midget and Sprint Car races through September, including several World of Outlaws series appearances. Weekly 360- and 410-class races are held on Saturday nights. The 360 Nationals have moved to a 3-day format, Aug. 2-4. The 47th annual Knoxville Nationals presented by Midwest Ford Dealers will be Aug. 8-11.
Mid-America Motorplex, Pacific Junction,712-622-8122, www.midamericamotorplex.com. Owned by Mark Tincher, who also owns nearby Tincher Auto Mall, this facility is only 20 minutes south of Omaha. The 2.23-mile road course is host to a number of SCCA races and private events. The Rolling Thunder 1/8-mile drag strip, completed three years ago, offers NHRA ET/Bracket racing classes in addition to Street Legal and Junior Dragster racing.
KANSAS
Heartland Park, Topeka, 800-437-2237, www.hpt.com. Every first and third Wednesday of the month through October, the Bumper to Bumper Wednesday Night Street Showdown provides grudge-racing alternatives to street racing. The versatile facility also contains a 2.5-mile Grand Prix road course, a 1.625-mile club course, a 1.75-mile Stock Car road course, and a 3/8-mile banked dirt oval. Junior Drag Racing events will be held throughout the season. After a three-year absence, dirt-track racing returns to Heartland Park with 10 events. On August 24-25, Lucas Oil NHRA Division V Heartland Championship will be presented by Goodyear and Kansas Equipment.Kansas Speedway, Kansas City, 913-928-7223, www.kansasspeedway.com. This year's schedule includes the NASCAR Series O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 on Sept 28, The NASCAR Busch Yellow Transportation 300 on Sept. 29, and NASCAR Kansas 400 on Sept. 30.
Lakeside Speedway, Kansas City, 913-299-2040, www.lakesidespeedway.net. Now in its 53rd year, this dirt track is host of the Dodge NASCAR Weekly Series and offers Friday night racing in the classes of Modifieds, Grand Nationals, and Factory Stocks. Special events this year include the 8th annual J-Hawk Modified July 14-15, the TNT Sprint Bandit Aug. 17-18, and the Capitol Federal Savings Late Model Shown Modified Sept. 29-29.
MISSOURI
Mo-Kan Dragway, Asbury, 417-642-5599, www.mokandragway.com. This quarter-mile strip hosts Friday night "Fun Drags & Midnight Drags," Saturday night NAPA-bracket races throughout the season, the "Fords Invade Mo-Kan" event July 28, the "GMs Invade Mo-Kan" Sept. 8, the fifth anniversary CDRA Bracket Bash on July 15-16, and the American Hot Rod Reunion, a nostalgia event, on Oct. 7.
Kansas City International Raceway, Kansas City, 816-358-6700, www.kcir.net . Located just five miles south of I-70 on Noland Road, KCIR's track was resurfaced in 2003. Highlights include; the G.R. Milner Ford Fastest Doorslammer Race presented by Odessa Ford on July 21-22, and Advance Auto High Schools Drag Race Sept. 23.
Lake Ozark Speedway, Lake Ozark, 573-302-4499, www.lakeozarkspeedway.com. In addition to its regular Saturday program of Modifieds, Fastrak Late Models, Street Stocks, and Hobby Stocks, on Aug. 15 the track will host the World of Outlaws on its 1/3-mile banked oval. The Sept. 2-3 race will host the LOS 360 Nationals, WOW and Sprint Invaders, 305 Winged Sprints, and Modifieds.
I-70 Speedway, Odessa, 816-833-0054, www.i70speedway.net. The half-mile ASA-member track, a high-banked asphalt oval, features weekly racing of Modifieds, Super Trucks, Super Stocks, Dash Cars, and Enduros. New this year is a 3/8-mile dirt track with classes in Hobby Stock, Sport Compact, Stock, and A-Modified.
Ozark International Raceway, Springfield, 417-738-2222, www.ozarkdragstrip.com. The quarter-mile track will host a Street Machine Shootout on Sept. 15 and the fourth-annual Fall Bracket Bash on Sept. 22-23.
Lucas Oil Speedway, Wheatland, 417-282-5984, www.lucasoilspeedway.com. Weekly classes at the 3/8-mile, semi-banked clay oval include A-Modified, Limited Late Models, Factory Stocks, Figure-8s, and Hobby Stocks. Special events include ASCS Winged Sprint Cars, 305 Sprints, and Miller ULMA Late Models on June 30, Midwest Outlaw Lightning Sprints on Aug. 4, and WSORR Off-Road Racing on Sept. 22.
NEBRASKA
Nebraska Raceway Park, Greenwood, 402-944-2233, www.neracewaypark.com. This 4/5-mile semi-banked dirt oval features Friday night racing of Late Models, Home Pride Pro Modifieds, Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, and Ed's Hornets. Sunday night racing includes Dodge Super Late Models, Grand National Late Models, and ProAms. G Karts race at the Little Sunset 1/8-mile track.

Junction Motor Speedway, McCool Junction, 402-773-5538, www.junctionmotorspeedway.com. Owned by Delmar Friesen, who also owns Friesen Chevrolet in Sutton, this 3/8-mile dirt track five miles south of I-80 on U.S. 81 features Saturday night racing in the classes of NAPA Late Models, Friesen Chevrolet Modifieds, Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Two-Person Cruisers, and Four-Cylinder.
SOUTH DAKOTA
Park Jefferson Speedway, Jefferson, 605-966-5517, www.parkjeffersonspeedway.com. Located just north of Sioux City, this NASCAR half-mile oval includes racing by IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stocks, B-Modified, and IMCA Hobby Stocks, Two-Person Cruisers, and Hornet classes.
