Branson, Mo.--The Hemmings Branson Vintage Rally on June 11-15 raised more than $30,000 for Unlocking Autism and the Autism Society of America. The five-day rally featured cars manufactured before 1949, said Rex Gardner, director of the Vintage Car Rally Association (VCRA). The rally drew a field of 44 cars and covered approximately 2,000 miles in southwestern Missouri and northwestern Arkansas, he said.

G.R. Pike of Searcy, Ark., and Bobby Hadskey of Germantown, Tenn., won the rally in a 1916 Hudson speedster. Bill and Dan Loubiere of Plano, Texas, finished second overall. They also won the rally's Silver (Novice) Division in their 1929 Ford Model A speedster.
"This was a great event," Pike said. "I've lived in Arkansas all my life, and I saw roads I never knew existed."
The next event on the VCRA's calendar is tentatively scheduled for mid-October in Grove, Okla.
