AAIA - Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association --- Formed July 1, 1999 through the consolidation of the Automotive Parts and Accessories Association (APAA), and the Automotive Service Industry Association (ASIA). AAIA is an international trade association that represents the full spectrum of the motor vehicle aftermarket industry. AASP of Missouri --- Committed to improving the automotive service industry through image building and ongoing training. AASP of Pennsylvania - Automotive Service Providers of Pennsylvania --- This state trade association, affiliated with AASP, encompasses all of Pennsylvania and Delaware. ABS - ABS Education Alliance --- The ABS Education Alliance is a coalition of three companies that represent anti-lock brake manufacturers in the United States: Robert Bosch Corporation, Delphi Automotive Systems and Continental Teves. The ABS is a coordinated effort to inform the public about the proper use and benefits of safety enhancement technologies .
ACC - Automotive Communications Council --- Professional association of advertising, marketing, and communications executives from automotive aftermarket companies. Provides a forum for the automotive trade and encourages the development of ways to increase advertising effectiveness.

ADS - Association of Diesel Specialists --- Association of diesel fuel injection repair facilities and manufacturers of OEM and replacement parts for diesel fuel injection, governor and turbocharger systems.
AERA - Automotive Engine Rebuilders Association --- Association of custom and production engine rebuilders / remanufactures of all types of internal combustion engines. Provides technical and management services.
AIA - Automotive Industries Association --- National Trade association representing the automotive aftermarket. Members include: manufacturers, remanufactures, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers of automotive parts, accessories, tools, and service repair equipment.
AIAM - Association of International Automobile Manufacturers --- Trade association that represents the U.S. subsidiaries of international automobile companies. Also represents manufacturers of tires and other original equipment with production facilities both in the U.S. and abroad.
AMI - Automotive Management Institute --- Nonprofit organization providing business management education to automotive service industry professionals. Offers the Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation to recognize industry professionals who complete course work in 5 categories and earn a minimum of 120 credits. AMI seminars are offered at many local, state, and national events, including the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE), and the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS).
APRA - Automotive Parts Rebuilders Association --- Trade association of over 2,100 rebuilders and suppliers of remanufactured parts.
APSA of Illinois - Automotive Parts & Service Association of Illinois --- APSA of Illinois is a not-for-profit trade association representing the automotive aftermarket industry in Illinois. The Association's objective is to promote and foster high ethical business standards among those engaged in the merchandising of essential automotive materials and services. ARA - Automotive Recyclers Association --- Established in 1943. Provides information, education, legislative, and other support services facilitating the growth and evolution of the international automotive recycling industry. ARA - Automotive Retailers Association --- Automotive service and repair industry association. There are 1600 member firms in: collision repairs, used car sales, auto wrecking, towing, and auto glass.
ASA - Automotive Service Association --- Nonprofit trade association for body and mechanical shop owners. Serves more than 13,000 businesses and 70,000 repair professionals. ERA - Electrical Rebuilders Association --- Non-Profit Trade Assn. for electrical rebuilders and suppliers in North-America. Provides on-going training for it's members and associates. ETI - Equipment & Tool Institute --- Trade association of manufacturers of auto service tools and equipment. Provides technical and marketing information to member companies. Sponsors annual Trade Press Report.
FAIA - Florida Automotive Industry Association --- FAIA.org serves the Florida Automotive Industry which employees over 150,000 professionals at over 24,000 businesses with an economic impact of over $17 billion to the State of Florida's economy. FAIA is the NUMBER ONE Trade Association in Government, Media and Industry Relations for the automotive industry.
FMC - Filter Manufacturers Council --- Established in 1971, the Filter Manufacturers Council represents North American manufacturers of vehicular and industrial filtration products. Initially developed to monitor regulatory and technological developments that affect the industry, the Council has since expanded its activities substantially.
The Council has undertaken several environmental initiatives including partnering with states to promote the proper management of used oil filters. In addition, the operation of the hotline and website provide valuable information regarding state regulations and companies that transport, process and recycle used oil filters. With the ongoing support of the Council the rate of used oil filter recycling has climbed over 50% nationally from near zero just ten years ago.
HDDA - Heavy Duty Distribution Association --- The Heavy Duty Distribution Association (HDDA) serves aftermarket distributors and manufacturers of parts and services for commercial vehicles in North America. While it specializes in the needs of the heavy duty aftermarket, it also benefits from the support and services of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), the much larger parent association. HDMA - Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association --- Trade association of 115 OE and aftermarket manufacturers and components for Class 6 and heavier trucks, and manufacturers of tools and service equipment for trucks. Provides marketing data, lobbying efforts, industry conferences, credit reporting, and EDI services for member companies.
HDRA - Heavy Duty Representatives Association --- Association of independent heavy-duty manufacturer's representatives marketing components for heavy-duty vehicles. Directory of manufacturer's reps available with territories and profiles.
HLDI - Highway Loss Data Institute --- The HLDI is a research organization sponsored by automotive insurers and closely affiliated with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. HLDI gathers, processes, and publishes data on the ways in which insurance losses vary among different kinds of vehicles.
HTI - Hand Tools Institute --- Trade association that represents manufacturers of hand tools and tool boxes. Coordinates federal and military hand tool specifications as well as national and international hand tool standards. Promotes the care and safe use of hand tools.
I-CAR - Inter-industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair --- International, nonprofit collision repair organization that researches, develops, and delivers quality technical education programs related to collision repair; thereby improving communication throughout the collision repair, insurance, and related industries, for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
IFA - International Franchise Association --- The world's oldest and largest trade association representing franchising. IFA's 28,000 members represent the entire franchise community.
IIHS - Insurance Institute for Highway Safety --- Highway and vehicle safety research and communications organization supported by automobile insurers.
III - Insurance Information Institute --- Media relations and consumer education association representing over 300 property and casualty companies. The mission of the I.I.I. is to improve public understanding of insurance.

JAMA - Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. --- International trade association of 13 Japanese car, truck, and bus, and motorcycle makers. Provides public information and represents the Japanese manufacturers in the U.S.
MACS - Mobile Air Conditioning Society --- International trade association representing manufacturers, distributors, and facilities offering repair and installation of auto a/c systems and parts. Offers EPS-approved refrigerant recovery and recycling technician certification under Section 609 of the Clean Air Act. Also offers technical training for auto a/c retrofit, basic a/c theory, diagnosis and service, test taking skills, electronics and electronic controls, and automatic temperature controls.
MAIA - Midwest Automotive Industry Association --- Established in 1961, MAIA currently represents over 500 automotive parts, equipment distributors and repair facilities throughout Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas. The Association is governed by one Board of twelve (12) Directors and four (4) Officers with standing Committees on Scholarship Education, Insurance and Political Action.
MAP - Motorist Assurance Program --- Industry wide coalition of automotive repair facilities, their suppliers, car companies, and automotive associations dedicated to building communication and trust between the aftermarket and it's customers. Offers accreditation of repair shops.
MECA - Manufacturers of Emission Controls Association --- Trade association of makers of emissions controls equipment. The association provides information on regulatory developments for it's members and is a source of information on emissions control technology development.
MEMA - Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association --- Founded in 1904, MEMA is an association of 700 members that exclusively represents manufacturers of automotive replacement and original equipment parts, service tools and equipment, automotive chemicals and other products. Provides members with marketing data, international contacts, engineering standards, financial services, and electronic data interchange systems.
MERA - Mobile Enhancement Retailers Association --- Established in 1996 to answer the unique needs of the Independent Mobile Enhancement Retailer. MERA has grown to be the driving force for the Mobile Enhancement Industry. Retailers, manufacturers, and manufacturer representatives throughout the industry who realize that sharing ideas and education is the answer to the growth of the industry support MERA.
MTIA - Missouri Tire Industry Association --- The Missouri Tire Industry Association (MTIA) is the new name for the association known for nearly 3 decades as the Missouri Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association. Incorporated in 1966, MTDRA was a spin off of the St. Louis Tire Dealers Association which was established in 1929. The Missouri Tire Industry Association is comprised of tire industry professionals across the state and beyond. NACE - International Autobody Congress and Exposition
NARSA - National Automotive Radiator Service Association --- Trade association of cooling system specialists and shop owners, plus manufacturers and distributors of cooling system parts, materials, tools and equipment. Includes automotive, commercial and industrial cooling service. Disseminates technical service information. Holds annual NARSA convention.

NWAPA - Northwest Automotive Press Association --- The NWAPA membership includes automotive journalists from the Pacific Northwest, as well as representatives of various manufacturers and other industry professionals spanning the automotive industry. It strives to improve communications between the automotive journalists of the Northwest and the automotive industry, further the accuracy and quality of automotive journalism, improve the professionalism and communication, foster ongoing education of it's members, and provide a forum for newsworthy people and products.
NWTDA - Northwest Tire Dealers Association --- An association that strives to advance and safeguard the business interests of it's members. It promotes standards of ethics, promotes harmony, goodwill and understanding among of its members and the tire industry, and encourages an exchange of ideas, technical knowledge, retailing and wholesaling procedures to improve the quality and standards of the new tire and retread industry, and acquaints the buying public with the true value of the tire dealer in the community.
NWRA - National Wheel and Rim Association --- Trade association of warehouse distributors of wheels, rims, and related parts. Provides the industry with products catalogs and safety information. Promotes the safe use, service, maintenance, repair, and replacement of the wheel.
OAC - Overseas Automotive Council --- Multifaceted resource for individuals involved in the international marketing sales of automotive products manufactured in the U.S. It provides a forum which enhances the prestige of the American automotive industry, promoting friendly trade relationships with understanding of the various cultures involved.

OEVA - Oregon Electric Vehicle Association --- A non-profit association of electric vehicle enthusiasts. We promote electric vehicle education and encourage their safe construction and use. We are a chapter of the Electric Auto Association.
OVAAA - Ohio Valley Aftermarket Automotive Association --- The Ohio Valley Automotive Aftermarket Association (OVAAA) is a non-profit trade association representing aftermarket businesses in Ohio and West Virginia. Members include automotive parts stores, warehouses, paint and body shop suppliers, manufacturers, manufacturers agents, repair service facilities, body shops, full-service stations, tire dealers, used parts suppliers, glass shops, and other related industries. The Ohio Valley Automotive Aftermarket Association was originally known as the Ohio Automotive Wholesalers Association (OAWA), which was founded in Ohio in 1957.
PERA - Productive Engine Remanufacturers Association --- Trade association of firms that rebuild or remanufacture gasoline or diesel engines, plus makers and distributors of engine parts and rebuilding equipment.
SAE - Society of Automotive Engineers --- Professional association of engineers and others who design and build self-propelled vehicles, from motorcycles to aircraft. Disseminates technical information and sets standards.
SCRS - Society of Collision Repair Specialists --- Through it's direct members and 36 affiliate associations, SCRS id comprised of 9,000 collision repair businesses and 76,000 specialized professionals who work with consumers and insurance companies to repair collision-damaged vehicles.
SEMA - Specialty Equipment Market Association --- Trade association of the performance and accessory industry. Members include manufacturers, distributors, importers, and retailers of performance and appearance equipment, as well as car clubs, motorsports sanctioning groups and the press.
STS - Service Technicians Society --- Technical membership association for automotive and transportation service professionals. Established by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), STS provides a forum for technical information exchange, skill development and networking with others technicians, shop owners and industry representatives.
TANA - Tire Association of North America --- Trade association representing North American replacement tire market. Promotes tire safety in repair shops and on the road. Provides technical and training information on the safe use, service, and disposal of vehicle tires.
TSEI - Transportation Safety Equipment Institute
TTMA - Truck Trailers Manufacturers Association --- TMA represents the major U.S. and Canadian manufacturers of medium and heavy-duty trucks. The primary mission is to promote the interests of the truck manufacturing industry by coordinating constructive dialog, cooperative research, and technical information exchange between industry and the U.S. and Canadian governmental entities that regulate the industry.
TMC - Tune-up Manufacturers Council --- Trade association of makers of ignition parts for cars, trucks, aircraft, boats, and stationary equipment.
WAWA - Washington Automotive Wholesalers Association --- WAWA is a state trade association of businesses in the automotive aftermarket industry joining together to deal with management, financial, regulatory and legislative (state & federal) matters. A great deal is accomplished through active participation in the Association.
