SVE Unleashes Limited Production 800 Horsepower Yenko/SC® Camaro
Huntington Beach, Calif. (February 2, 2017) – During the first half of January 2017, Classic Industries, the recognized leader in GM and Mopar restoration parts worldwide, hosted the unveiling of the 800 horsepower, supercharged Yenko/SC® Corvette built by Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE). Building upon the incredible reception of the Corvette, SVE has now launched their latest project, the 2017 Yenko/SC Supercharged Camaro.
New Jersey-based SVE has built more than 55,000 vehicles for GM over the past 25 years. The latest build, the Yenko/SC Camaro, started as a Camaro SS – a vehicle already known for its performance potential, taken to the next level with a fully blueprinted 800 horsepower LT-1 engine.
With the bulk of the changes taking place under the hood, the chassis of the Yenko has not been modified. Some of the upgrades include Yenko-badged brake calipers, 20-inch five-Spoke wheels with gunmetal finish, machined lip and sYc center caps, all wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar Tires – 285/35 R20 up front and 305/35 ZR20 on the back. The interior features special Yenko emblems, including carbon fiber inserts and unique visual details that make it a distinct vehicle.
Like the Corvette, power comes from a fully blueprinted 416 C.I.D. (6.8-liter) LT-1 engine, featuring an aluminum block that features a computer-balanced rotating assembly, including a race-quality forged 4340 steel crankshaft and H-beam rods, with forged aluminum pistons. CNC ported and polished LT-1 cylinder heads are topped off with a 2.9-liter twin-screw supercharger that is fed by an LT-4 fuel system and injectors, controlled by a custom-tuned PCM—a configuration good for 800 horsepower and 750 lb-ft of torque.
Exterior accents include the sYc hood stripe and Yenko/SC side stripe graphics, as well as strategically placed Yenko badges and Yenko Supercharged power badge with vehicle build number. Available in coupe or convertible and in a variety of color schemes, only 50 units will be produced.
"Like the Grand Sport Corvettes and COPO Camaros of the 1960's, the Yenko brand reflects the heart and soul of a historic era," said Ray Yager, Executive Vice President of General Marketing Capital Incorporated, the licensing arm of the Yenko brand and sister company to Classic Industries. “SVE has captured the spirit of this legendary period of automotive history and combined it with Yenko's® signature style, to create today's ultimate American-made supercar."
The Yenko/SC Camaro will be offered to customers through GM dealers as a custom order. To learn more about SVE please visit:specialtyvehicleengineering.com.
