BAR notifies smog check stations of OIS implementation and equipment requirements

Ranch Cordova, Calif.—The executive office of the Bureau of Automotive Repair recently sent a notification to smog check station owners alerting them of a statewide OBD Inspection System (OIS) implementation, beginning March 9.

Upcoming changes to the Smog Check Program include the following:

1. Smog check stations must use an OBD Inspection System to test the following vehicles:
