Original One Parts provides tour of facility and parts certification process
St. Louis—Original One Parts has been expanding its St. Louis facility. It also has distribution centers that are scheduled to open around the country this year.
Original One Parts partnered with AASP-MO to provide a dinner and tour of its St. Louis facility recently, where collision shop owners, managers, technicians and staff were joined by company leadership.
“This place is changing and growing every day,” said Sarah Young, marketing director, Original One Parts.
Original One Parts are genuine OE parts and the same parts originally installed at the factory. They are harvested from vehicles throughout the country and delivered to refinishing facilities where they undergo a “rigorous” testing, refinishing, and certification process. The result is a consistent, like-new OE part.
The event opened with AASP-MO Executive Director Ron Reiling welcoming everyone and introducing the Original One Parts leadership team. A tour of the facility was led by Dean Cerimeli, COO, Original One Parts, who walked attendees through the certification process from “harvesting” salvaged parts all the way through packaging for sales.
The process in which parts are inspected and certified is overseen by Head of Engineering Sean Higgs.
“See this engine cradle? Looks like a perfectly fine used part, right?” Higgs asked of the attendees during the tour. “This part has been measured and photographed using our very detailed and highly accurate program and has been deemed to have defects that, to the naked eye, would be overlooked.”
Every part that is “harvested” goes through the same process and if it doesn’t pass the tests it is scrapped. The tour also featured a Q&A session with Cerimeli and Director of Sales Josh Kirbach.
