ILLINOIS

Dennis Thompson, chairman and CEO of Thompson Truck & Trailer, Inc., with locations in Iowa and Illinois, is one of five nominees for Truck Dealer of the Year, an annual award presented by the American Truck Dealers (ATD), Heavy Duty Trucking magazine and Procede Software. The winner and runner-up will be announced during the 53rd annual ATD Convention & Expo in Las Vegas, which runs through April 3, in conjunction with the NADA Convention & Expo.

Brake Parts Inc (BPI) was recently honored with the NAPA Sales Leadership Excellence award during the annual NAPA Vendor Summit in Atlanta in February. Bruce Tartaglione, senior vice president, global sales and marketing, and Ron Hoxsey, vice president – sales NAPA, accepted the award on behalf of BPI. “Next to the Spirit of NAPA award, this is the most meaningful and significant award that NAPA can bestow. Receiving this recognition is a direct reflection of our tremendous sales growth with NAPA as well as the cooperation, partnership and mutual support that we have with them,” Tartaglione said.

Brake Parts Inc. (BPI) was also named a GM Supplier of the Year and received the company’s Overdrive Award during General Motors’ 24th annual Supplier of the Year awards ceremony in Detroit last month.

IOWA

KANSAS

Bob Keith, immediate past chairman of the I‑CAR® international board of directors, was awarded the Founder’s Award for his dedication and service to I‑CAR at the recent 2016 I-CAR Volunteer & Instructor Conference in Orlando, Fla.

Keith has on on the I-CAR international board since 2008, serving in various roles on the I-CAR executive committee before serving as chairman in 2014-2015. Keith is currently the senior director, operations training for CARSTAR. He is responsible for the creation and delivery of CARSTAR specific training to the CARSTAR system. He has been a collision shop owner for more than 35 years, and owns two collision shops in Nebraska and two in Kansas. Prior to working for CARSTAR, he worked three years for Carlson Systems and five years with Caterpillar.

Keith has been involved with I-CAR for many years as a volunteer prior to becoming a board member and chairman. He has an ASE master certification in collision repair and is a graduate of the AMI Accredited Automotive Management program. His industry affiliations include Skills USA – National Technical Committee working with the structural repair competition. AMI board of trustees, treasurer; and the CAPA Technical Committee. Bob holds an Associate’s Degree in diesel technology. He is Co-Chair of the CIC Education Committee and a member of the CIC Definitions Committee.
