Larry H. Miller Colorado Chrysler Jeep to Present $10,000 Grant to Ability Connection Colorado
AURORA, Colo (October 24, 2018) – Representatives from Larry H. Miller Colorado Chrysler Jeep will present a check for $10,000 to Ability Connection Colorado on Tuesday, October 25 at 9:30 a.m. The grant will directly support the quality improvement of the organization’s Creative Options for Early Childhood Education - Ironton Center playground, an initiative that will provide a safer recreational space for children attending the early childhood education Head Start program. The organization’s Creative Options Ironton Center currently serves nearly 60 low-income, high-risk and vulnerable children and families who reflect the diverse refugee and immigrant community in the area.
“Our families live in high poverty areas, where parks and sports facilities are rarely available,” explained Judith Ham, president and CEO of Ability Connection Colorado. “For our children, quality outdoor time is essential not only for the physical benefits, but the emotional impact. This grant will help create a space for them to enjoy while gaining the health and educational advantages.”
Assistance from Larry H. Miller Charities, the charitable arm of the dealership group, is directed toward women and children’s programs, with an emphasis on health and education. Funds are generated, in large part, through employee contributions.
