Larry H. Miller Dealerships Invites the Public to Support Residents in Need During the Annual “5 Weeks of Giving” Campaign

DENVER (November 26, 2018) –Employees from Larry H. Miller Dealerships in Colorado are inviting customers and local residents to help countdown to the holidays and spread goodwill by  donating toys and other items for families in need this holiday season.

“The holidays are a special time to bring joy to the lives of children and families within our communities,” said Ray Reilly, senior vice president, Larry H. Miller Dealerships. “Every year, our employees and customers look forward to making the holidays a little brighter for those in need.”

Community residents are invited to join the “5 Weeks of Giving” holiday campaign by visiting any Larry H. Miller Dealerships in Boulder, Colorado Springs or Denver metro area to donate toys or other requested items.  In partnership with the Boulder County Share-A-Gift, Denver Santa Claus Shop, Kids Crossing Angel Tree, Catholic Charities Marian House and Fort Carson Military Base, all gifts will be distributed to families in time to celebrate the holidays.

Boulder County Share-A-Gift (Boulder) Larry H. Miller Toyota Boulder will be collecting unwrapped new and gently used toys in good working condition beginning Monday, November 26.  All toys collected will be distributed on Saturday, December 15. Low-income parents living in the Boulder County School District are invited to the “Toy Shop” for desired gifts. Every child 14 years or younger will be able to receive a new and used gift, arts and crafts, books, bikes and stocking stuffers.

The Denver Santa Claus Shop (Denver) – Toy donations will support the nonprofit’s mission to give “a toy to every girl and boy,” many of whom might not otherwise have a toy to open at Christmas. The organization will set up a giant, temporary toy shop for four days beginning on December 14; qualified families (referred by social service agencies) are invited to come and select gifts for their children. Larry H. Miller Dealerships in the Denver Metro area will be collecting new and “gently loved” toys at their locations through December 10, to help the organization reach its goal of supplying gifts to 13,000 Denver children.

Kids Crossing (Colorado Springs) – Kids Crossing is a private, nonprofit child placement agency that provides foster care and group facility care and has served more than 250 children throughout Colorado. A tree filled with ornaments will be on display at Larry H. Miller Liberty Toyota, where customers and employees may select an ornament and purchase the requested items for a selected foster child.

Catholic Charities Marian House and Fort Carson Military Base (Colorado Springs) – Catholic Charities of Central Colorado provides help and creates hope for homeless and vulnerable individuals and families in Colorado Springs. Employees of Larry H. Miller Toyota Colorado Springs will work with the organization to help fill the local food back so that families can have a meal for the holidays. Customers can support their efforts by stopping by the dealership to donate canned foods between December 3 through December 22. In addition, as our nations service men and women return home to the Fort Carson Military Base, employees will provide Brigades with gift cards and distribute holiday gifts to the families of our fallen heroes in December.

This year’s “5 Weeks of Giving” holiday campaign will culminate in a special “5 Days of Giving,” where LHM employees will award financial grants up to $50,000 to five selected charities.

All financial donations are awarded by Larry H. Miller Charities, a nonprofit organization that functions as the charitable arm of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies.  The majority of the funds are generated through Larry H. Miller companies and employee contributions.  Assistance from the foundation is directed toward groups and programs based in communities where Miller companies conduct business.  Attention focuses on issues that affect women and children, with an emphasis on health and education.
