‘Back To Our Roots:’ 5 Stones Expands by launching Shop Marketing Pros, a New Division
5 Stones Media has introduced a brand new division of their company, Shop Marketing Pros. Brian and Kim Walker’s knowledge of the automotive industry has fueled their passion to return with new partnerships.
Brian, who once worked as a Mercedes Benz dealer tech and Master Diagnostic Technician later opened a Mercedes-Benz speciality shop Behind the Star, then Peak Automotive, LLC. in 2004.
“I’m a mechanic at heart,” said Brian. “I love fixing things that are broken. That’s why I love marketing so much. Digging in and figuring out why a business’ marketing isn’t working is a lot like it was when I got to go elbows deep into a car that no one else could fix. When you figure it out, there’s nothing like it.”
Kim took the reigns on marketing the business, often attending community events and promoting the shop in other avenues:
“Years ago when my mechanic husband asked me to join him in his auto repair shop, I thought he was crazy. Sixteen years later, here we are, owners of a marketing agency helping shop owners.”
Brian and Kim recently traveled to Kansas for the Vision Hi-Tech Training and Expo Conference. The popular event is put on by the Midwest Auto Care Alliance, a recent partner of Shop Marketing Pros. The trip comes as a realization of how far the marketing duo has come.
Kim said: “We were once shop owner attendees of VISION and now we’re going back as exhibitors, speakers, and sponsors. We are thrilled to be back in the industry we both love!”
Both Brian and Kim agree that the new division is a move in the right direction to utilize their skill sets.
“To get to do marketing for auto repair shop owners combines my passions, and I couldn’t be more excited about where we are going,” said Brian.
“He loves fixing things and I love working with people,” said Kim. “It’s a perfect partnership! It’s a thrill for us to take our marketing experience back to our roots of working in the automotive repair business.”
