ASA-CO and Jasper Engines & Transmissions will present a training seminar “Creating a Culture of Excellence” at the Hilton Garden Inn, 16475 East 40th Circle, Aurora, Colo., 80011 on Sept. 25. The three-hour event will include a dinner and presentation by Doug Bawel, CEO of Jasper Engines & Transmissions, and is free of charge. Attendees must RSVP by Sept. 17. ASA-CO will host its two-night “Growing Your Customer Base” training seminar at Advance Auto Parts, 10325 E. 49th Ave., Denver, on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 24-25, from 6-9:30 p.m. The seminar will discuss effective ways to increase a shop’s customer base in a simple, controlled, profitable manner and be instructed by Greg Marchand. Larry H. Miller Dealerships will partner with Denver’s 9NEWS and Volunteers of America Colorado Branch to support the 17th annual “Stuff for Students” school supply drive. Larry H. Miller Dealerships – with the help of customers and employees – will fill a car, truck or SUV in each of its showrooms with school supplies such as backpacks, pencils, highlighters, scissors, binders, rulers, calculators and lunch bags. “Stuff for Students” collection bins will be featured at Larry H. Miller locations in Denver, Aurora, Centennial, Lakewood, Highlands Ranch, Thornton, Federal Heights and Boulder. Donations collected will be distributed to more than 15 school districts throughout Colorado to benefit pre-kindergarten to high school students in need and in underserved communities. Monetary contributions can be made online through Volunteers of America website by searching “Stuff for Students”.
CARSTAR franchise partners, vendors and insurance leaders from both the U.S. and Canada came together in August at the annual North American conference and raised $230,000 for cystic fibrosis research, care and advocacy. The CARSTAR Colorado business group was honored as one of 13 notable donors. The annual CARSTAR cystic fibrosis fundraising target for 2018 was $375,000, but with the donations at the CARSTAR Momentum 2018 conference, the network shattered its goal. The current total for funds raised is now at $470,000.
Mighty Distributing System of America announced that Griffin Enterprises, a Jiffy Lube group of 55 stores in Colorado, Utah and Nevada owned by Dave and Joye Griffin, has acquired a Mighty Auto Parts franchise, doing business as Mighty of the Rockies. It has become the exclusive distributor of Mighty automotive products throughout the Colorado Front Range. The new Mighty franchise allows Griffin Enterprises to centrally distribute Mighty’s preventive maintenance products to their Jiffy Lube stores and add profits with B2B product sales to non-affiliated customers.
