Bill Breuer, of Breuer’s Service Inc., in St. Louis, and Jeff Bates, of Bates Automotive & Restoration Inc., in Crystal City, Mo., were both semi-finalists in ACDelco’s 2017 Top Shops. As participants in ACDelco’s Professional Service Center (PSC) program, they excelled in prioritizing customer service, building talented teams that operate state-of-the-art facilities, and showcasing leadership in their communities. They were awarded ACDelco-branded gifts for each shop and each employee.
CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts announced the opening of two new CARSTAR locations in Missouri, bringing the total for the St. Louis region to a dozen locations. CARSTAR Wentzville is located at 1675 W. Pearce Blvd. in Wentzville, Mo., and CARSTAR Bridgeton is at 11976 Natural Bridge Road. in Bridgeton, Mo. The locations are owned by Jon and Trista Parmentier. CARSTAR Wentzville previously operated as family-owned I-70 Auto Body for 23 years, while CARSTAR Bridgeton opened in 1968 as Wheelers Certified Collision Center. Jon Parmentier purchased the Wentzville location in 2005 and the Bridgeton facility in 2013.
The Jasper Engines & Transmissions Driveline Division will supply 4-speed transmissions to Stewart-Haas Racing, Joe Gibbs Racing, Furniture Row Racing and Leavine Family Racing, for the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season. Danica Patrick will have a Jasper 4-speed transmission in her Premium Motorsports entry as she makes her final Daytona 500 start. Martin Truex Jr. of Furniture Row Racing, along with Stewart-Haas Racing drivers Kevin Harvick, Clint Boyer, Kurt Busch and Aric Almirola, and Kasey Kahne of Leavine Family Racing, will use the single-rail version of the Jasper 4-speed transmission in 2018, which allows a single external rail to rotate and move two internal forks to engage the four forward gears.
Ranken Technical College is launching a new educational partnership with Subaru of America that will provide its students with specialized training, certifications and additional career opportunities within the expanding network of Subaru dealerships. Beginning in the 2018 fall semester, Ranken automotive students can be a part of Subaru University (also called "Subaru-U), a program designed to combine the talent and resources of Subaru of America, its more than 600 dealerships nationwide, and select NATEF/AYES accredited Secondary and Post-Secondary schools.
The Jasper Engines & Transmissions Drivetrain Remanufacturing facility in Jasper, Ind., has achieved STAR Certification in the Indiana Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). The ‘STAR’ title recognizes the hard work and commitment demonstrated by the facility’s management and associate-owners in keeping the worksite a safe and healthy place to work. Jasper Safety Director Jason Pieper said VPP is all about management commitment and associate involvement. “I want to thank our executive team, our managers and our leaders that do a great job supporting our safety programs. Earning, and keeping, STAR certification is where we want to be, as a company, in our continuing safety journey.”
