April is National Car Care Month

The popular and effective National Car Care Month (NCCM) is here.  Service providers can use the Car Care Council’s 2013 national consumer media campaign, new website, and professional promotional materials to help connect with current and prospective customers.

 

The campaign to educate and inform motorists about the safety and budget benefits of proper vehicle maintenance is administered by the Car Care Council.  It is the information source for the “Be Car Care Aware” consumer education campaign, providing information on the benefits of regular vehicle care, maintenance, and repair.  Throughout April, a wide variety of national and local media will recognize the campaign and provide public awareness of NCCM, as has been increasingly done throughout the campaign’s history.

 

Parts & People is a long-time supporter of “Be Car Care Aware” and NCCM.  Historically, one of the most popular expressions of the campaign is hosting car care events.  Many shops host community car care events centered on vehicle inspections.  The free, vehicle-inspection events emphasize the importance of preventive maintenance and educate consumers about how to take proper care of their vehicles.  Shops hosting the event can be listed on the car care website.  Some shop owners have partnered with local charities or post-secondary automotive education departments to jointly sponsor the event.  A start-up kit containing pertinent promotional materials is available. Professional, promotional print materials

The professional, promotional print materials offered at the website include NCCM banners, the Car Care Guide, car care tips, rearview mirror danglers, and posters.  All materials make great handouts and can upgrade your parts store or service business presentations.

 

Website and social network content

As more and more shops involve themselves in a variety of electronic, social networking presentations, we believe it is a “no-brainer” to consider the resources provided at the carcare.org website.  Shops looking for fresh, professional website and social networking content can visit the site and download the Car Care Guide, available in English and Spanish.  Promotional and educational materials are also available to add a professional look to any shop’s website.  Informative, consumer-directed, vehicle maintenance tips and recommendations are available to allow service providers a continual and always changing supply of content, often seasonally addressed.

 

The new Industry Tool Box at www.carcare.org includes a “drawer” titled “Tune up your website” where you can incorporate Car Care Council content. Available are NCCM logos, car care clips, supportive consumer articles, service interval schedules, and the electronic version of the Car Care Guide.

If ever there was a time to educate consumers about the benefits of a well-maintained vehicle, it is now.  Need a no-cost to low-cost, promotional kick-start to your spring business?  Support NCCM, cost-effective vehicle safety and  maintenance for your existing and prospective customers.

 

Fly the flag and show the logo colors of NCCM through April.  Review and consider the extent to which you wish to be involved at www.carcare.org.  At minimum, consider it marketing and industry due diligence.  Beyond that, make the most of the campaign’s resources as fit your world and time.
