Addressing industry challenges and opportunities at AAPEX

As technology changes surge throughout the automotive parts and service industry, individual business owners and managers are increasingly coming to terms with the challenges and opportunities emerging. It’s daunting. Notable concerns include the cost of tools and equipment needed, advanced technology such as advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), equal access to telematic data, and the finding and developing technician talent. The cost, quality and future availability of parts also ranks high.

However, the entire industry is responding. Discussion and information regarding those challenges is becoming increasingly available. Business owners are realizing they are not alone but part of an industry that is clarifying and addressing the challenges. And all are invited to attend AAPEX to learn about and share in the future this industry offers.

AAPEX provides access to all the business owner needs to stay ahead of the curve, keep up with the latest technology, trends, product development, training, and a general sense of the direction the future will require.

Attendees can experience the future by visiting the new Technology Intersection to explore and demo innovative technology. A new Mobility Park will offer scan tool demonstrations, underhood training, a 3D print area and electric vehicles.

With nearly 5,000 booths, attendees can identify specific products. The division by specific sections, such as tools and equipment, remanufactured parts, etc., makes finding and comparing product groups relatively easy. AAPEX is a single venue at which the attendee can see all the products, services, technology and manufacturers they seek in a few days while surrounded by information and colleagues relevant to the experience.

In addition to the informal exchange of information and ideas these conferences provide, formal education classes from the industry’s leading experts and trainers are available.  Let’s Tech, a series of 20-minute-or-less presentations, debuted in 2016 and proved popular, convenient, and effective. It returns in 2017. A wide range of topics will be addressed including new mobile apps, emerging vehicle technologies, and new products.

Above all other reasons to attend, perhaps, is to realize the size and scope of this industry. It’s massive, dynamic, and world-class. It’s cutting edge. And, it offers exposure to the wide-ranging opportunities available in the industry.

From the business owner perspective, exposure to the direction of the industry and the resources and tools needed to address future challenges, stimulates and motivates. The awareness and understanding gained helps prioritize the steps and resource allocation necessary to achieve short- and long-term goals.

AAPEX is co-owned by the Auto Care Association and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), the light vehicle aftermarket division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA). These two associations co-ordinate and support industry initiatives while providing continuity, leadership, and legislative oversight for the entire industry.

AAPEX provides the industry this annual conference that presents all the new products, new programs, and networking partners in one location, Las Vegas, in a short period of time.

Don’t miss it. Attend AAPEX, Oct. 31 through Nov. 2.
