Jefferson College staff and Meineke owners partner for Veterans Day oil changes

Arnold, Mo.—Meineke in Arnold, Mo., provided current and former military personnel with a free “Basic Oil Change” on Veterans Day. It was the fourth year of the promotion at that location. Owners Charlie and Debbie Shelton estimated that more than 100 free oil changes would be completed by the end of the day.

Students from the Automotive Technology Program at Jefferson College volunteered to help with the event. Instructors Gary Boyher and Gerard Uhls saw this as an opportunity for students in the program to gain hands on experience in a real shop setting while at the same time paying respect to those who have served our country.

Refreshments were provided to the veterans inside while they waited for their vehicles. While waiting, many of the veterans took advantage of the seating provided to relax and share stories of their service.
